Travelling To Newcastle & Gateshead
The region is served very well by air, rail and road.
Based in the North East of England Newcastle & Gateshead is easy to get to whether you're travelling by air, rail or road, and, once you're here the central district is so compact it's great to walkor simply jump on the quick and efficient Metro system or one of the many buses.
By Air: Newcastle International Airport is served by many airlines providing direct links from top international and UK destinations, and is only 8 miles from the city centre. There are regular flights from London Heathrow and Gatwick. Once landed you can either catch the Metro into the City Centre taking approximately 25 minutes and costing £3 check or take a taxi for approx £15.

By Rail: Newcastle Central Station is right in the heart of Newcastle city centre, and convenient to many of the conference hotels. The Intercity trians from London take only 3 hours..
By Road: The A1(M) passes through NewcastleGateshead linking the area to London, the South, Scotland and all major routes across the country.

The Hilton is the main conference hotel and is situated on the Gateshead side of the Quayside overlooking the river Tyne. This 4-star hotel has all the modern facilities of an upmarket hotel including a health and fitness club and swimming pool. The Hilton Hotel will host the majority of the programme: Registration, Poster sessions, Exhibition and most of the catering. It is within a 5-minute walk of The Sage Gateshead where all the plenary sessions are to be held.
